Introduction

The University of Lahore (UOL) has played a major role in developing learning and research while also providing students with a diverse range of courses. This objective has been strengthened by developing excellence in teaching, learning and research making the University of Lahore one of the finest institutions of higher education. The University of Lahore is general university established by "Ibadat Education Trust" in the year 2000.
Mr. M. A. Raoof, the Chairman of the Trust through his untiring efforts and long experience in Higher Education in the Quid-e-Azam University and UGC (University Grant Comission, now HEC), has been able to raise this university to a level of excellence. The university received its charter in the year 2002.

Over the last 8 years the University of Lahore has been able to create an important niche amongst the private sector universities of the country. Presently  it is one of the largest university in the private sector. In recognition the Higher Education Commission has placed UOL in the highest category "W" . Furthermore because of its balanced growth and efforts for achieving excellence in teaching and research, the university has been included in the Top 500 Universities of the World.
